July - Home Decor Month!

Why: In preparation of Summer weddings, (especially the 10% of weddings which occur in July,) retailers are taking advantage of wedding-bound shoppers, says Daniel Butler, vice president of retail operations for the National retail Federation. "from table linens to dinnerware, you can give almost any home item as a wedding gift," he says. Also, department and home stores, anxious to move merchandise that is already on the floor, host sales to increase foot traffic.

Your Savings:
Twenty to 50 percent. You can also find an increasing number of two-for-one deals, such as silver candlesticks sold with candles.

Can't Buy Now?Shoppers can also score deals in September and October, which are also popular months of exchanging "I do's."

Fuschia into 2009

Since the speech, I can't stop thinking about this picture. The Obama ladies, all coordinating, with these gorgeous fuschia-pink dresses. Before this picture, I knew that I wanted this color incorporated in my daughter's future, room re-design. Before this idea for Olivia's room, the last time I met this color in all it's splendor was back in 1991 (I was ten years old.) The color theme for my aunt's wedding - frilly, crazy, lacy, bright fuschia.

It always amazes me when a fashion trend returns but returns with grace. Modern, and this time around, pleasing to the eye.

(In retrospect, fuschia, prior to today - seriously?)
